The Bentonia Fire Department was dispatched to an automobile accident Tuesday morning (12-4-18) around 8:12 AM. When Fire/Rescue units arrived on scene they found a car that had collided with a stump grinder being pulled by a truck. The accident occurred on Highway 49 at the South Bentonia exit. The only reported injury was a female who was the driver of the car. She refused to be transported to the hospital by Pafford EMS, who also responded to the scene. She left the scene with a relative in a privately owned vehicle. The car appeared to be a total loss, but we have no reports to how much actual damage the stump grinder received. There were no other reported injuries in this incident. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department.
