“Shelter in Place” goes into effect at 5pm today!   

"Shelter in Place" goes into effect at 5pm today 4/3/20 through April 20, 2020 at 8:00 am.    Executive order by Governor, Tate Reeves on April 1st.  These orders will be enforced by local police and fire departments.      

SLIGHT RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER TODAY

FROM NWS: There will be a SLIGHT RISK FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS Today through Tonight. A line of thunderstorms is expected to move through the area this afternoon into early Thursday morning. Severe thunderstorms will be possible with damaging winds up to 60 mph and a few tornadoes.

LIMITED RISK FOR STRONG WINDS TODAY

FROM NWS: There is a LIMITED THREAT FOR NON-THUNDERSTORM WINDS TODAY Gusty winds are possible this afternoon to early evening. Sustained winds of 20-25mph possible with gusts up to 30-39mph at times. Winds may cause weak trees and tree limbs to break and fall. High profile vehicles may become unsteady in gusts.

FROM NWS: Today through tonight, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes are possible late this afternoon and evening. Some thunderstorms could produce damaging winds between 60 and 70 mph, and hail up to the size of quarters.
