Sue Fouche’, 84, of Benton, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Martha Coker nursing home. Sue was born in Kentwood, Louisiana to Gus and Ruth Grayson. She was married to the love of her life, Pete Fouche’ and mother to their six children. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Yazoo County. Sue loved to read, play scrabble and she adored her many dogs she had through the years especially her last rescue dog, Spud. She was known for her quick wit and said many times that when she dies she wants us to sprinkle her ashes over the book mobile. As the staff at Martha Coker told us, she always kept them laughing. Laughter was always her way of making others feel comfortable. She loved her family and friends.
The family would like to thank two of her dearest friends, Barbara Pennebaker and Polly Harris who came regularly to visit with Sue and for their long time friendship during the years of raising their families. We are thankful for the staff at Martha Coker that spent time with her and got to know her. She loved them and they loved her. We always found great comfort in that.
Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Pete and her parents. She is survived by her six children, Flip (Debbie) Fouche’ of Lexington, Brad (Linda) Fouche’ of Vaiden, Lori (James) Langley and Lisa Johnston of Yazoo City, Lynn (Tim) Mood and Eden White of Benton. Sue had 14 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and host of great-grandchildren.
Sue will be buried on Tuesday November 10th with a small graveside funeral at Bethany UMC for her immediate family members only, due to COVID-19 concerns. The Reverend Lewis Kalil will officiate the service.
Serving as pallbearers are Sue’s grandsons; Jarred Fouche’, Joshua Fouche’, Grayson Fouche’, Daniel Fouche’, Ryan Damiens, Jon Phillip Damiens, Fred Johnston, Tanner Mood and Hayden White.
Memorials may be directed to: Bethany United Methodist Church 5509 Graball-Freerun Road, Yazoo City, MS 39194-4020.
