Joe Shively Stoner, Jr., 68, of Holly Bluff, MS, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at The Blake at Township in Ridgeland, MS. Joe was born in Vicksburg, MS. on March 3, 1952 to Joe Shively Stoner, Sr, and Betty Ann Stoner. He attended Holly Bluff Consolidated School and graduated from Sharkey-Issaquena Academy. He also attended Holmes Junior College and Mississippi State University. Joe was an Eagle Scout and was actively involved in 4-H as a young boy. He later supported 4-H events as an adult. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing, and had a passion for Mississippi State baseball. He was a lifelong active member of The Holly Bluff United Methodist Church. Joe was a self-employed farmer in the Stoner family farming operations.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joe Shively Stoner, Sr. Survivors include his wife Delaine Lewis Stoner, son James Smith Stoner ( Morgan), his mother, Betty Ann Stoner, and sister Shurley Hearst (Randy). Graveside services are Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 11:00 am at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City, MS under the direction of Stricklin King Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers are Billy Wyatt, Mark Nixon, Jr., Connor Lewis, Ron Goodman, Patrick Nolan, and Chad Savery. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Mark Lee, Mark Nixon, Sr., Curtis Kyle, Bill Kyle, Wix Crawford, Frank Hegman, Henry Reeves, Charlie Savery, Tim Nolan, Skip Horton, and Randy Hearst.
