Fire units from Bentonia, Benton, and District 3 responded to a Thursday afternoon fire that had spread to approximately 3 acres of forest land off of Scotland Road in Yazoo County. Fire fighters were on the scene for about 2 1/2 hours. Fire fighters attacked the perimiters to prevent the fire from spreading and then began extinguishing hot spots. According to the care taker of the land the fire spread from a nearby brush pile that was set on fire earlier in the day. There were no injuries in the incident.
