This Afternoon The Mississippi Department of Transportation will be closing the south bound lane of US 49 just south of the county high school for about a quarter mile stretch. Residents traveling south bound will have to find an alternate route. The highway department says it they are in the process of constructing an emergency Cross over that when completed will allow two way traffic one lane only until the south bound lane can be repaired.
