Mayor Fred Miller and the Sharkey County Board of Supervisors are happy to welcome EPA Deputy Assistant Administrator for Water D. Lee Forsgren and EPA Regional Administrator Mary S. Walker to Rolling Fork for a public listening session on October 21 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rolling Fork High School Auditorium. All those impacted by the recent flood event are encouraged to attend.
The meeting is an opportunity for all stakeholders to ask questions, make comments and to learn more about how the EPA is working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to address South Delta flooding.
“We are excited to host EPA here in Rolling Fork” said Mayor Miller. “We appreciate the EPA taking time to visit with us and we look forward to an informative discussion regarding the backwater flooding.”
“On behalf of the Sharkey County Board of Supervisors, we want to welcome Deputy Assistant Administrator for Water Forsgren and Regional Administrator Walker to Sharkey County and thank them for taking time to visit with us,” said Sharkey County Board President Bill Newsom. “Although Sharkey County is co-hosting the EPA, the impact of this year’s flood event extends far beyond our county line, and we encourage all those across the South Delta to come and participate in this informative session.”
