Shirley Polasini Hancock, 79, of Indianola, entered Heaven, November 15, 2023.
She was born April 18, 1944, in Greenville, and was the youngest of nine children born to John and Julia Santucci Polasini. Shirley was a graduate of Leland High School and attended Mississippi Delta Junior College. She worked at Delta Seed Company for many years prior to her retirement. Shirley was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Charles, and took wonderful care of him through his sickness until his death.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hancock; parents, John and Julia Polasini; sisters, Ida Ruggeri, Ann Reginelli, Mary O’Branovich Arendale, Polly Brooks, Josephine Bellipanni, Johnny Mae Minton, and Lucille Wilson.
Shirley is survived by one brother, John “Bobee” Polasini, Jr. (Carol) of Leland; a special niece, Martha Randall; niece, Julie Wilson Young; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Monday, November 20, 2023, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 am with Father Sleeva Makala officiating. A private burial will be held in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
