Marie Cargil was called home on November 15, 2023. She was born November 9, 1933, and raised in Mississippi where she met and married Bobby R. Cargil.
As a military wife, she was stationed in Germany twice and loved the history, learning about where she lived and places she had visited. She had a genuine interest in people and their lives. She loved crossword puzzles, shopping, baseball, football, dogs and Christmas – she also knew all the answers on Jeopardy. Her quick wit, humor, thoughtfulness, and generosity will be forever missed.
Marie is preceded in death by her brother JC Hood, sister Stella Calhoun and husband of 54 years, Bobby Cargil. She is survived by her daughter, Lauren (Mark) Connolly.
The family has entrusted Stricklin King Funeral Home with the funeral arrangements. Visitation will begin at 10:00 on December 16, 2023, followed by the funeral service in the Stricklin King Chapel. Burial with be at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City, Mississippi.
