The Mississippi State Bulldogs played Louisville in an elimination game on Thursday evening. The Bulldogs were coming off of a 6-3 loss to Vanderbilt in the College World Series in Omaha on Wednesday. Loiusville was coming off of a win over Aubrn in the early elimination game. A Bulldogs win would allow a rematch against Vanderbilt.
- The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead in the top of the 4th inning and added another run in the top of the 7th to go ahead 3-0.
- Louisville managed to load the bases in the bottom of the 7th inning, but was only able to bring 2 runs across the plate, making the score 3-2.
- The Bulldogs held on to a 302 lead headed into the bottom of the 9th inning.
- However, Louisville managed to score two runs in the bottom of the 9th to win the game 4-3.
The loss ended Mississippi State’s post season run with a 52-15.
