U.S. Senator Cindy-Hyde-Smith (R-Miss) has been named chairman of the Senate Agriculture Subcommittee on Livestock, Marketing, and Agriculture, a panel with oversight over livestock and dairy production, marketing, food safety, and security issues. The appointment means Hyde-Smith will chair two subcommittees in the 116 Congress, including leading the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Legislative Branch.
