The Benton Academy Lady Raiders came up short on Tuesday against Winona Christian in the North State AA Fast Pitch Softball Tournament being held at Carol Academy. The Lady Raiders held a 4-1 lead on the Stars heading into the top of the 7th inning. The WCA Lady Stars pulled off a 5 run rally to take a 6-4 lead. The Raiders were unable to score in the bottom of the inning giving the Stars the 6-4 victory.
The Raiders finished in 4th place in the tournament and will advance to the State Tournament being held in Magee, Ms on Saturday September 29th and Monday September October 1st. The Lady Raiders will face the #1 seed from the South Brookhaven on Saturday time TBA.
Winona Christian finished third and will play Clinton Christian on Saturday.
Marshall Academy came in second and will face Newton Academy.
Central Holmes Academy won the AA North tournament and will face Amite in the first round of the State Tournament.
