The Annual Community-Wide Thanksgiving Service will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 5:00 pm, at New King Solomon MB Church which is located at 4334 West 13th Street. Host pastor is Rev. Greg Robertson. This service is sponsored by the Yazoo City Ministerial Association and seeks to involve all churches, denominations and pastors of the Yazoo City Area. The Thanksgiving sermon will be preached by Rev. David Bryant, interim pastor of Calvary Baptist Church on Jackson Avenue. David is well known in this area from his service at First Baptist Church, Yazoo City, as their youth minister. He later served as pastor of Holly Bluff Baptist Church, and then returned to First Baptist Church to serve as senior pastor. He currently resides in McComb, MS. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Joe Henry Smith and musicians from St. Peter MB Church. Other ministers and lay leaders from throughout the city will participate through prayers, scripture reading and reports. Van Ray will give a wrap up report on “Flood Aid 2019” as the project comes to a close. An offering will be received to assist the benevolence needs through out the community and administered by the Ministerial Association treasurer. The host pastor joins Rev. Ken Lynch, Vice President of the Ministerial Association and program coordinator, and Rev. George Woodliff, Ministerial Association President, in issuing an invitation to the public to attend this special Thanksgiving Service on November 24, 2019, 5:00 pm.
