A total of 960 permits will be available within seven hunting zones across the state for the 2021 10-day alligator hunting season on public waters. Applications for permits will be accepted by Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) from June 1-8. The season begins Aug. 27 and runs through Sept. 6.
Permits are issued through a random drawing and an online application is required. Applications must be submitted online at www.mdwfp.com, between 10 a.m. June 1 and 10 a.m. June 8. You must be a resident of Mississippi and at least 16 years old at the time of application. Any nonresident with a Mississippi Lifetime License is eligible.
